Cartel Simulator has been in Early Access since January 6, 2024, and has received consistent content updates throughout its development — progressing from launch through multiple major versions (v0.3, v0.4, v0.5, v0.6, v0.9, and now v1.0b). The previous assessment flagged concerns about a long silence since the October 8, 2025 (v0.9) update, with two promised follow-up parts undelivered. That concern has now been resolved: on August 26, 2026 — just one day before today's assessment — the developer released Version 1.0b, a major update introducing a full Visual Novel/Story Mode alongside new scenes and a chapter select feature. Crucially, the August 26, 2026 update post states that "Patreon has received a lot of new Cartel Simulator content over the past few months, and Version 1.0b begins bringing that progress over to Steam." This confirms the developer has been actively producing content, and that the Steam release is explicitly described as the beginning of a broader rollout — more content is expected to follow on Steam as it is ported over from Patreon. The game's store description still lists only "Chapters 1 and 2," confirming the full story remains incomplete. The game remains in Early Access with active development clearly ongoing and additional content explicitly planned for Steam delivery.
