Evaluation

Catch Me! left Early Access and launched as a full game on January 24, 2023. In the launch announcement, the developer was candid about the game's situation: they had hoped for more player support and were unable to find a publisher. As a result, they stated that bearing the ongoing development costs would be too great, and they would not be continuing work on the game. They acknowledged a remote possibility of returning if a publisher appeared or the game gained significant traction, but described this as unlikely and framed it as a conditional "if the stars align" scenario — not a commitment. Their intent was clearly to wrap up development and move on to new projects. The most recent post (July 15, 2026) is a publisher sale announcement from ByteRockers' Games, but it is entirely about other titles in their catalog — a newly released deckbuilder called Solnox, plus demos for other upcoming games. Catch Me! is mentioned only as a free giveaway item during the sale window, which is a promotional tactic rather than any indication of resumed development. This post does not walk back or revise the January 2023 statement about development being concluded. There are no unreleased DLC listings, no roadmap or roadmap promises outstanding, and no developer communication suggesting further content is planned. The game launched as a complete product on January 24, 2023, with the developer explicitly stating at that time that active development was ending.
Evidence
Developer announced the game's full release out of Early Access, and explicitly stated that ongoing development would not continue due to lack of publisher support and financial constraints. Framed the game as complete, with only a speculative chance of future work if circumstances changed dramatically.

About this game

Run, jump, and throw strange stuff into your friends' faces!

Use the whole world as your playground and discover in a new way why "Tag" excited you so much as a child.

Catch Me! is a competitive online platformer for 4 players and the most action loaded game of tag you have ever played with your friends. Use interactables to change the world. Close windows to stop your chasers, open up a new escape route or simply stun pursuers.

One player at a time has the goal to earn points by reaching certain locations on the map without being caught.

The other players are the chasers and try to catch the runner. If they do they become the runner. Simple but fun and as fast as it can be.

Jump through windows, climb onto house roofs or Ferris wheels or even surf on a subway. Each level plays like a racetrack in a racing game – absolutely unique!

Compete against others online to see who has the best scores at the end. Design your very own runner with the help of skins, emojis or animations and show that you are the fastest and best "tag player" in the world.

  • Online fun for 4 Players

  • 6 Maps inspired by cities around the world

  • Many chaotic Interactables

  • A big selection of Character Skins

  • The funkiest soundtrack

  • Easy to learn, hard to master
