Changeling Tale launched on December 27, 2023 after seven years of development. Since launch, the game has received a steady stream of updates: v1.0.2 in March 2024 (completing art rendering for Grace's chapters and fixing bugs), v1.0.2.2 in March 2024 (smaller fixes), and a substantial Anniversary Update (v1.0.2.4) in December 2024 that overhauled art, animation, music, and writing across all routes. On March 5, 2025, the developer explicitly announced that a bonus story reward for completionists and a brand-new romance route will be added as free updates for all owners. They described the new romance as "still a long ways off" but confirmed it is in active development, with sneak peeks already shared on their Patreon. The game's store description also states "3 Romantic Interests, with more to come," directly reinforcing this commitment. The most recent developer communication, posted on June 26, 2025, confirms the new romance storyline is still being worked on — the developer mentioned updating the demo and OST "in between working on the next romantic story line we will add to the game." There has been no developer communication since June 26, 2025, but given the developer explicitly described this content as a long-term project in progress, the absence of further posts does not indicate the plans have changed.
