Chased by Darkness

Chased by Darkness launched on June 1, 2021 as a finished product and has since received two free major content updates: The Motel map (January 24, 2022) and The Hospital map (May 1, 2023). These updates added new maps, enemies, weapons, and gameplay mechanics at roughly a 12–16 month cadence. The most recent developer communication of any kind was a crossplay/matchmaking update on July 1, 2023, followed by a post on October 29, 2024 that was entirely focused on promoting a separate game (Automate It) — with no mention of new content for Chased by Darkness. The last actual Chased by Darkness content or development post dates to July 2023, nearly three years before today's date of June 20, 2026. Given the established major content cadence of roughly 12–16 months between releases, the silence since mid-2023 — now nearly three years — far exceeds any reasonable continuation of that pattern. The developer has shifted their attention to a new title (Automate It), and there are no announced or unreleased DLC, no roadmap, and no post-launch statement promising additional content for Chased by Darkness. The store description mentions "free major updates" and "regularly updated with free content," but that language has not been substantiated by any developer action since May 2023. The game appears to have reached the end of its content development cycle, with the Hospital map being its final major addition.
