Evaluation

Checkout: Cashier Simulator launched on January 10, 2025 and has received a steady stream of updates ever since. Shortly after launch, the developer published a "Coming Soon" list that included Endless Mode, seasonal decor, more products and customers, localization, and macOS support. Endless Mode shipped on February 3, 2025, and German localization arrived on September 21, 2025 — both items from that original list. The most recent patch (Version 1.1.18) was released on March 16, 2026, showing the developer is still actively maintaining and improving the game. On December 23, 2025, the developer posted an update announcing their next game, "Cold Case: The Red Dress Murder," and mentioned they "intend on making more cozy and wholesome games in the future" with "a bunch of ideas" in the pipeline — but this doesn't indicate Checkout development is ending. The March 2026 patch shows work on Checkout continued after that announcement. Some items from the January 2025 launch roadmap — such as more products, more customers, and macOS support — have not been explicitly confirmed as shipped, and the developer has continued to patch the game as recently as March 2026. There are no unreleased DLC listings and no explicit statement that development is complete.
