Evaluation
Cheese Rolling launched on August 19, 2025 as a free-to-play multiplayer game. Since launch, the developer has shipped four major content updates at a fairly consistent pace:
1. **Version 1.1.0 – Crowns Update** (August 22, 2025) — New Crowns game mode
2. **Update 1.2.0 – The Plague** (August 29, 2025) — Cemetery map, Plague Doctor skin, achievements. Developer noted "More updates + new projects to come."
3. **Update 1.3.0 – Living Cheese** (September 13, 2025) — New game mode where players control the cheese
4. **1.4.0 – The Moon** (October 29, 2025) — New Moon map with low-gravity gameplay
5. **Update 1.5.0 – Stonehenge** (December 22, 2025) — New Stonehenge map with destructible standing stones
Beyond major updates, the developer has maintained an active stream of feature patches and bug fixes throughout. The most recent post is a bug fix patch on May 4, 2026. The major updates have arrived roughly every 4–8 weeks, and the gap since the last major update (December 22, 2025) is approximately 6 months as of June 2026 — at the outer edge of the established cadence window. The developer has not announced any specific upcoming content, but also has not indicated that development has concluded. The developer's August 2025 statement of "More updates + new projects to come" remains the most recent directional statement.
Evidence
