Chess'Extra

Chess'Extra launched on November 4, 2020 as a free-to-play chess variant and received a burst of updates in the months following release: three feature patches shipped between November 2020 and February 2021, adding new game modes (Reinforcements, Fog of War, Random Positions) and basic chess support. The last meaningful development activity was a bug fix on September 20, 2022. Since then, the only news posts from the developer have been announcements of entirely separate games — Spiky in March 2021 and Pong Temple in April 2024 — neither of which indicate any planned new content for Chess'Extra. Both support DLCs were released on launch day (November 4, 2020) and are purely cosmetic/financial in nature. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no roadmap, and no developer statement promising future content. The game appears to have shipped as a largely complete product and received a short post-launch polish period that concluded by late 2022.
