Evaluation

Chicken Invaders 2 originally launched on Steam on March 4, 2016 and has one released DLC (the Christmas Edition, released March 14, 2016). After years of occasional maintenance, InterAction studios issued a landmark free "Episode 2" update on January 9, 2025 — a fundamental rework featuring remastered Full HD graphics, a new engine, reworked weapons, built-in seasonal content, an endless mode, and numerous features back-ported from Chicken Invaders Universe. The developer noted in that post that translation work is "still ongoing, so expect to see improved translations (or even new languages) over the coming updates," signaling continued development intent at the time of the overhaul. Following that major update, the developer has maintained an active and consistent update cadence: a bug fix on January 11, 2025, feature patches on January 16 and February 20, 2025, bug fixes in April and May 2025, a feature patch on August 12, 2025 (adding accessibility settings), a maintenance release on April 28, 2026, and most recently a substantial feature patch on September 26, 2026 (v.35) introducing multiplayer support and improved Steam Remote Play Together functionality. This most recent update is just two days before today's date, confirming the developer is actively engaged with the game. No announcement of development concluding has been made.

About this game

Just when you thought it was safe to eat chicken again, the chickens have returned with an organized invasion to take over the entire solar system! Journey to each planet and fight your way through to save the world (again)!

In the first chapter of the Chicken Invaders saga, you defended Earth against an invasion of intergalactic chickens seeking revenge for the oppression of their earthly brethren. However, as you were clearing out the last of the chicken invaders and were looking forward to a double chicken burger special at the space burger bar, the true scale of the problem became apparent: the first invasion was simply a precursor to the chicken's main assault! Their master plan now becomes clear: to invade each planet in the solar system and make sure that it is inhabited exclusively by chickens!

The time has now come to don your egg-repulsing helmet and make the biggest omelette you've ever made as you continue your adventure in the second chapter of Chicken Invaders: The Next Wave. Only you can make a difference. Will you succeed? Will the future of chicken burgers be secure? Or will you end up as part of the menu in a galactic chicken restaurant?
