Chicken Invaders 3 launched on Steam on June 8, 2015. Both DLC items (Christmas Edition and Easter Edition) shipped the following day and are fully released.
The game has been in sustained active development well beyond its original release. On January 9, 2025, the developer shipped a major free overhaul called the "Episode 3 Update," fundamentally reworking the game with remastered Full HD graphics, a new engine, reworked weapons, built-in seasonal content, an endless mode, and numerous features back-ported from the developer's live title Chicken Invaders Universe. The developer noted at the time that the translation project was "still ongoing" and that players should "expect to see improved translations (or even new languages) over the coming updates."
Following that major update, the developer has continued shipping updates at a regular pace: a bug fix on January 11, 2025 (v.20 feature patch on January 16, 2025), a two-player and Steam achievements patch on February 20, 2025 (v.21), a bug fix on April 14, 2025 (v.22), an accessibility and cheat-unlockables patch on August 12, 2025 (v.24), a minor maintenance release on April 28, 2026 (v.25), and most recently Episode 3 v.35 on September 26, 2026 — just two days before today's date. That latest update introduced multiplayer support for the Episode format and improved Steam Remote Play Together functionality.
This establishes a clear, sustained pattern of meaningful updates across 2025 and 2026. The developer has made no statement indicating that development has concluded.
