Evaluation

Chronicon launched in August 2020 and received two paid DLC expansions — Ancient Beasts (February 25, 2022) and The Mechanist (January 25, 2023). The developer declared the game finished in March 2023, but reversed course on August 21, 2025, announcing a return to active development. The developer then shipped the Cosmic Curse DLC on September 30, 2026, which was the endgame DLC promised back in November 2025. As of today (October 5, 2026), the Cosmic Curse DLC has shipped and all four DLC entries in the store are marked Released. The developer has been posting bug-fix updates in the days since launch (October 1 and October 5, 2026), which is the normal post-launch stabilization pattern. The October 5 bug-fix post mentions that the developer will be posting a new Roadmap on the forums "during the week, to give a glimpse of the future" and plans to look at reward scaling next. That mention of an upcoming roadmap is worth noting — it suggests the developer has future plans they intend to communicate — but a roadmap that has not yet been published and has no specific content announced is not itself a concrete commitment to additional content. Until the developer actually publishes that roadmap with specific details, there is no announced unshipped content to point to. The game's current content is fully shipped, and the developer is in active post-launch stabilization mode. This assessment may change once the promised roadmap is published.

About this game

Story

What happens in a world where the last evil lies dead, the last quest is completed, and the last chest has been opened?

In this world, the long-dead Heroes of Old are forever remembered and honored through a great magical device. This device, known only as the Chronicon, is capable of opening a portal into the memories – the very souls – of the Heroes of Old. Each year, a handful men and women are given the great honor to re-live the old tales.
And this year, you have been chosen…

Note: Trailer footage and screenshots are of high level characters with decent equipment. Expect a slower pace at first.
