COGEN: Sword of Rewind launched on January 26, 2022 as a complete 2D action game. All three DLC packs — additional story and playable character scenarios for Akasha, Yuji Otori, and Copen — were released on the same day as the base game, meaning the full content package was available from day one. Following launch, the developer shipped a handful of updates: a bug fix in February 2022 (v1.01), a feature update in March 2022 (v1.02) adding new difficulty modes and quality-of-life improvements, and a follow-up bug fix in March 2022 (v1.03). The developer made no announcements of future content beyond those initial updates. The most recent developer communication is a security fix from October 3, 2025, which was a maintenance patch tied to a game engine vulnerability — not a signal of new content. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no roadmaps, and no developer statements indicating further content is planned. The game shipped as a complete product.

Awakening to find herself sprawled on a floor of hard steel, the first thing that greets Kohaku's eyes is a strange talking sword named ExeBreaker. Unsure of where she is or what's going on, she agrees to this sardonic sword's proposal to join forces, and together they journey deep into the heart of a transformed Cogen City—once Kohaku's home, now a collapsing ruin. Both mystery and mayhem await her, but with the power of ExeBreaker's Ouroboros System on her side, nothing will stop her from discovering the truth of what happened to her beloved home.
