Cosmic Trip launched out of Early Access on May 24, 2017 as a complete VR real-time strategy game. After launch, the developer (Funktronic Labs) shipped several feature patches through mid-2019, most notably a significant update on June 28, 2019 that added Valve Index controller support and a new Cosmic Ray Blaster weapon. A smaller bug fix patch followed in November 2019 to address Windows Mixed Reality controller issues. That November 2019 patch is the last Cosmic Trip-specific update on record. Since then, the developer has moved focus to their other VR title, The Light Brigade — a news post from August 31, 2023 was published on Cosmic Trip's page but was entirely about that separate game, with no mention of any further Cosmic Trip content. The two DLC items (a soundtrack and a digital art book) both released on launch day in May 2017 and represent the complete set of paid add-ons. No unreleased DLC exists, no future content has been announced, and the developer has not communicated any plans to add more to Cosmic Trip. The game appears to have shipped as a finished product and received its last meaningful content update in June 2019.
