Creature Keeper launched on May 8, 2025 and has received steady post-launch developer attention from solo developer Fervir Games. In the weeks following launch, a rapid series of bug fixes and feature patches addressed softlocks, added localization (Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish), and improved menus and combat tuning. On June 19, 2025, the developer published an official post-launch roadmap signaling intent to continue improving the game beyond its initial launch state. A public beta branch was opened on July 17, 2025 to gather community feedback on upcoming systems changes. On September 16, 2025, the major v1.5.2 update shipped — a comprehensive overhaul of the Bestiary, Perk, and Befriending systems — followed by a hotfix on September 18, 2025. That hotfix on September 18, 2025 is the last developer communication on record. As of today, October 1, 2026, that is approximately 12.5 months since the last update. The game has seen two major updates since launch (the June 19, 2025 roadmap patch and the September 16, 2025 v1.5.2 systems rework), establishing a rough cadence of roughly 3–4 months between significant releases early on. However, no major update has shipped in the 12.5 months since September 2025. This silence is notable, but the developer has not announced the conclusion of development, and the roadmap published in June 2025 described intentions beyond what was delivered in v1.5.2. The game is a solo-developer indie project, where longer quiet periods are not unusual. The absence of communication is worth watching, but does not yet clearly signal that development has concluded — nor does it rise to the level of a distress signal.
