Evaluation

Curtain Call launched on November 14–15, 2024. One month after launch, on December 20, 2024, the developer shipped a substantial content update adding a new character (Capybara), two new card packs (Crops and Chess Pieces), and a draggable enemy mechanic — alongside numerous balance and quality-of-life improvements. In the same post, the developer explicitly stated they had promised "a large number of updates after the official release" and were delivering on that commitment, signaling an intent to continue supporting the game. However, since that December 20, 2024 update, there have been no further developer communications beyond a small bug-fix patch on December 31, 2024. The game has now been silent for approximately six months (from December 31, 2024 to today, June 20, 2026 — roughly 17 months of silence after the last patch). The developer established only a single major content release post-launch, making a robust cadence pattern difficult to establish. With no announced future content, no unreleased DLC on the store, and a prolonged communications gap following just one post-launch content wave, the evidence does not support flagging active ongoing development — but nor has the developer stated the game is complete. Given the single post-launch content drop and the extended silence, the game reads as a small indie title that received one meaningful post-launch update and has since gone quiet without a formal "we're done" statement. There is no ongoing content cadence, no unreleased DLC, and no developer roadmap pointing to future releases. The game appears to have settled into a completed state.
