Cyberhunt launched on May 19, 2017 as a retro twin-stick shooter with arcade and mission modes. On April 13, 2021, the developer (Paulo / NukGames) delivered a substantial overhaul update — described as rebuilding the game from the ground up — adding a new engine, fully remade graphics, a new missions system, two new enemy types, improved controls, and new sound effects. The original version was preserved as a legacy option for players who preferred it. This was framed as a thank-you to the community rather than the start of an ongoing update cycle. Since that April 2021 update, all developer news posts on this game's page have been cross-promotional announcements for other NukGames projects (Shapeshooter, Burning Skies Arcade, and Burning Skies), with no indication of further content planned for Cyberhunt itself. The sole DLC — the original soundtrack — shipped on launch day in 2017. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no roadmap, and no developer statements suggesting additional content is coming. The game appears to be a complete, self-contained product.

THE GAME
CYBERHUNT is a retro procedurally generated twin stick shooter, that takes you back to the sweet to the sweet arcade machines era!
There are 2 different gameplay modes:
- Arcade: Destroy enemies and asteroids to try to get your name to the top of the steam leaderboards.
- Missions: Shoot your way on 500 different missions, and unlock sweet achievements for your steam profile.
- Perfect to play when you want a chill experience, or are in a queue for another game this is a small and replayable game, with lots of missions, achievements and steam leaderboards.
- Gameplay inspired by oldschool arcade games like Asteroids, Galaxian, Space invaders.
- Oldschool pixel art graphics
- 5 Types of enemies, 5 types of weapons, and 4 PowerUps creates a fun and variable gameplay.
