Darkarta: A Broken Heart's Quest Collector's Edition launched on March 8, 2017 as a complete hidden-object adventure game. Following launch, the developer issued a series of patches through 2018–2019 that addressed bugs, added language support (French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian), and expanded platform support to Mac and Linux. A significant remastered update shipped on September 30, 2018, which fixed crashes, improved fonts, added display modes, and included previously paid music tracks and wallpapers at no extra charge. This represents the last substantial content improvement to the game itself. On March 27, 2021, the developer announced a sequel project called "Sophia's Adventures," a separate game series with an ambitious 60-episode target. This announcement was about a new, distinct title — not additional content for Darkarta. There is no indication this sequel has shipped or that any further updates to Darkarta itself are planned. The last developer communication of any kind was the sequel announcement on March 27, 2021, and prior to that, the last game update was on July 27, 2019. The game was clearly launched as a self-contained story experience, has received all its post-launch polish, and the developer has moved on to planning new projects. The game is complete.
