Death Skid Marks launched on November 20, 2014 and received several content updates in its first year or so — adding new enemies, weapons, cars, and gameplay systems. The last meaningful content update was a graphical overhaul patch (version 1.25) on March 13, 2020. On August 15, 2022, the developer posted a direct statement about the game's status: they confirmed they had "achieved their goal" for the game and announced it would become free to play permanently starting August 22, 2022. While they briefly mentioned working on something new, this referred to a new project, not further content for Death Skid Marks. The developer explicitly framed the game as a completed effort. Only one DLC exists (the soundtrack, released the day after launch), and no unreleased content is listed. There have been no further posts or content announcements since August 2022. The game shipped as a complete product, received its post-launch content cycle, and the developer has since moved on.

Upgrade your car with parts and your crew with illicit substances, buy weapons and special items, fight using guns, melee and your driving skills.
