Deep Space Classic is a free-to-play online multiplayer game developed by a single developer (Bondo Games). It launched on August 30, 2018. The developer was active during September 2018, posting patches and updates, but on December 18, 2018, published an explicit statement that the game is "no longer being supported," citing that it had not recouped 50% of its development costs within the first month and that continued development was not financially viable. That post is the last known communication from the developer — there have been no updates, announcements, or any other developer communications since December 18, 2018. Notably, the Steam Early Access flag for this game is currently set to "No," meaning the game is not in Early Access by Steam's classification — regardless of its history. All three DLC items (Spacefleet Edition, Admiral's Edition, and Collector's Edition) have been released. The developer's December 2018 abandonment statement, combined with nearly eight years of complete silence since that date, confirms that no further content or development is forthcoming. The game exists in a finished but abandoned state.
