DEPO launched on July 25, 2022 and has maintained a steady cadence of major updates throughout its life. The major content milestones are: the online multiplayer system (July 2024), Steam Workshop integration (March 2025), the Anniversary Bounce Mode update (July 25, 2025), and most recently Update 6.0 (September 28, 2026). That Update 6.0 — shipped just three days before the assessment date — is a substantial release adding a rebuilt Photo Mode with 60+ filters, a Personal Diary feature, a new third-person camera, global online chat, a modernized rendering pipeline, new skins and songs, and a range of bug fixes.
On July 22, 2026, the original developer (Guiliam) posted a 4th Anniversary message confirming that, due to time commitments on his new game Rombykon, he was handing DEPO's lead development role to Mxyfell — a collaborator who knows the project inside and out. The post explicitly stated "this doesn't mean the end of the game," and Mxyfell immediately began work, delivering a July 25, 2026 update with new events and features. Update 6.0 followed on September 28, 2026, confirming that the handoff was smooth and development is actively continuing.
No announcement of a content conclusion or final update has been made. With major updates shipping at roughly annual intervals (and the most recent one arriving just days ago), the game is clearly in an active ongoing update cycle.
