Evaluation
Depression The Game launched on July 7, 2018 as a short indie experience. Over the following two years, the developer — a solo creator — shipped several patches and a Music DLC (May 21, 2019). During that period, a free remake was being developed and promoted, but on July 25, 2019, the developer officially announced that the free remake had been canceled. That same post stated that a "final patch" would be released and then support would end. That final patch arrived on February 27, 2020 (version 1.06i), bringing UI improvements, footsteps, screenshot mode, and other polishes. No developer communication of any kind has appeared since that February 2020 post, which is consistent with the developer's own statement that support would end after the final patch. All DLC has been released. The game is a short, self-contained experience (15–40 minutes per the store description), and the developer has communicated no plans for any further content.
Evidence
Patch 1.06i released with UI rework, new features, and bug fixes — the last developer communication on record, consistent with the promised final patch.
Developer officially announced the free remake is canceled and stated a final patch would be released, after which support would expire.

About this game

Is an interactive game simulating major depression.
You are joining a young man on one of his really bad days trying to handle his thoughts and survive that day... Will he?

- On average the game takes around 15 minutes to complete,
but if you wish to find all the secrets it is 25 to 40 minutes - This game is not for everyone
- A short but unique experience

Have been suffering from depression for 6 years now.
Developing games helps me to handle it and gives me motivation in life to keep going.
Unfortunately, the topic of depression is still a taboo topic, and the affected people are having a harder time getting real help and opening up. I try to change that! I try to break the taboo with my games and take a new step in the right direction and encourage others to think about it.
If you are suffering like I am please share this game with your family and friends and reach out for help.
This game is based on my personal experiences. Depression is a very complex disease, therefore, there can be many differences.
I am very open to feedback.
