Desk Paws launched on June 17–18, 2025. At launch, the developer explicitly stated their intention to "maintain a steady pace of updating with adorable new pets and their babies" for a considerable time after release, alongside improvements to weather, experience, and content. True to that promise, the game has received three major content updates since launch: Version 1.1 on August 4, 2025 (10 new pets and offspring variants), Version 1.2 on September 30, 2025 (another 10 new pets and claw machine updates), and a Christmas Special on December 18, 2025 (seasonal house and weather system). This establishes a consistent pattern of major additions roughly every 2–4 months. The game has also received numerous feature patches and bug fixes throughout this period. In July 2025, the developer opened a community pet design submission drive, inviting players to suggest new pets for potential inclusion in the game — a strong signal that the content pipeline is expected to continue growing. The most recent major update shipped on December 18, 2025, placing the game within its established update window as of June 2026. The developer has not announced any conclusion to content development.
