Desktop Detective

Desktop Detective launched on August 19, 2026 by solo developer Conrad of Conradical Games, with a substantial content package including 100 levels, 234 pieces of gear, 9 locations, 14 detectives, 16 tool types, and 111 achievements. The developer has been consistently active since launch. Bug fix and quality-of-life patches followed within the first few days (August 20 and 22, 2026). A more substantial Rebirth Update shipped on September 12, 2026, reworking the rebirth bonus system and expanding gear slots. On September 20, 2026, the developer announced they were preparing a "first big update" and solicited community feedback to shape it. On October 8, 2026, that first major post-launch update arrived: full mod support, allowing players to create and download custom detectives, gear, locations, and more. Importantly, in that same announcement, the developer explicitly stated: "We still have more in store for Desktop Detective, including official content." This is a direct developer statement that further official updates are planned beyond mod support — the game's content development is ongoing.
