Desktop Farm

Desktop Farm launched on July 31, 2020 as a relaxing voxel farm-building live wallpaper game. In the months following launch, the developer shipped several feature patches adding new animals, crops, and gameplay improvements. A substantial 2024 General Update arrived on April 24, 2024, adding new content (chickens, ducks, tomatoes, onions, music, and visual improvements) and celebrating 70,000 copies sold. Four days later, on April 28, 2024, the developer released the first and only DLC — the Expansion Pack — adding more animals, plants, and fencing styles. This DLC is now released and fully available on the store. There are no unreleased DLC entries listed, no roadmap or developer statement indicating future content is planned, and no posts after May 3, 2024. The December 2023 post (tagged as a development status update) was a holiday message and sale announcement — it described the developer's personal story and expressed gratitude, but made no commitments to future Desktop Farm content specifically. The store description itself encourages players to share ideas but explicitly states the intent is to "keep this project simple and relaxing," which aligns with the game having reached a natural stopping point. With all DLC shipped, no outstanding commitments, and no developer communication since May 3, 2024, the game appears to be a complete product.
