About this game
The desktop is spiraling out of control.
Desktop Monsters is a 2D tower defense game where your computer desktop becomes the battlefield. Build digital defenses, manage your resources, protect the Desktop Node, and survive increasingly dangerous waves of malware, corrupted processes, data thieves, tower-stealing threats, and powerful bosses.
BUILD YOUR DIGITAL DEFENSE
Deploy five attack towers, each with a distinct role:
• Cursor Turret — Reliable sustained damage for the core of your defense.
• Firewall Node — Controls crowded routes and slows incoming threats.
• Antivirus Beam — Chains its attacks across multiple targets.
• Packet Sniper — Long-range support designed to pressure grouped enemies.
• Sandbox Array — Adds another layer of specialized control to your defensive network.
Reinforce key positions with the Firewall Barrier and combine your defenses with upgrades and system skills to adapt as the pressure increases.
CHOOSE HOW YOU DEFEND
• Standard Route — A focused 10-wave defense built around the core tower defense loop.
• Extended Route — A longer 15-wave battle with more demanding late-game threat combinations.
• Endless Mode — Keep defending as the pressure continues to rise and see how long your system can survive.
• Campaign — Fight through 3 stages and 24 waves across a structured progression of threats and boss encounters.
• Challenges — Take on 7 rule-changing scenarios that force you to rethink familiar strategies.
FIGHT ACROSS THREE BATTLEFIELDS
Defend the Desktop Node across three distinct battlefields:
• Open Desktop — A flexible battlefield with room to build freely.
• Tactical Grid — Permanent structures create corridors and force tighter defensive planning.
• Memory Channels — Channel geometry changes movement routes and creates new flanking pressure.
Each battlefield changes how you position towers, control routes, and react to incoming threats.
FACE 24 DIGITAL THREATS
The Threat Database contains 24 hostile processes and digital monsters, including specialized enemies that can disrupt your defenses instead of simply attacking the Desktop Node.
Watch for threats such as:
• Data Thief — Steals valuable data from your system.
• Tower Collector — Can steal an actual tower and attempt to carry it away.
• Jammer and Shield threats — Disrupt targeting and protect other attackers.
• Tactical formations — Threats may approach through different directions, flanks, escorts, and coordinated pressure.
Three major bosses push your defenses even further:
• Trojan Core
• Ransomware Warden
• Botnet Nexus
Each boss introduces its own battlefield pressure and mechanics.
LOCAL LAN MULTIPLAYER
Connect over a local network and defend multiple Desktop Sectors in the same match.
Each player controls their own desktop, builds their own defenses, manages their own resources, and can observe other players' sectors.
But cooperation is not the whole story.
Use the Threat Cache to collect and deploy hostile programs against other desktops. Launch viruses, coordinate mixed-virus Strike Packages, or even target yourself to hide your intentions.
Attacking another player does not automatically reveal who can be trusted.
KEEP FIGHTING AFTER YOUR DESKTOP FALLS
Losing your Desktop Sector does not necessarily remove you from the match.
Compromised players enter Retaliation Mode, gaining sabotage-focused tools that allow them to continue influencing the battle while the surviving desktops keep defending.
The match continues until the network reaches its final outcome.
UPGRADE YOUR SYSTEM
Choose from 21 system skills, improve your defenses, strengthen virus threats through multiple levels, and adapt your build as new enemy combinations appear.
Longer sessions can be saved and resumed, and LAN players can reconnect to their original sector after disconnecting.
Build carefully. Watch the network. Protect the Desktop Node.
And remember: the biggest threat may not always be coming from outside.
