Evaluation
Devil Spire launched on February 2, 2022 and received a steady stream of feature patches and balance updates throughout 2022 and into 2023. On October 25, 2023, the developer explicitly published a post titled "Devil Spire's Real Last Patch 1.5999," stating it was the final support patch for Devil Spire 1 — making the game's content complete as of that date. The developer also noted in that same post that they had future projects planned, and this was borne out: development effort shifted entirely to a sequel, Devil Spire Falls. A music recruitment program for the sequel was announced in July 2024, a demo launched on April 19, 2025, and Devil Spire Falls itself launched into Early Access on July 6, 2025. Devil Spire (the original) is a finished, complete game with no further content planned or expected.
