Dragon Ruins II launched on January 16, 2025 and was well-received, exceeding the developer's sales expectations. In the months following launch, the studio delivered frequent patches and feature updates — adding Japanese localization, NG+ improvements, and various bug fixes. On August 12, 2025, the developer announced Dragon Ruins II: Aftermath, a standalone expansion with substantial new content: 15 new dungeons, two new weapon types (Greatswords and Spears), a reworked upgrade system, 20+ new skills, WANTED monster hunts, and over an hour of new music. A July 18, 2025 post had already signaled this expansion was in its latter stages of development. As of the most recent developer communication (November 6, 2025), Aftermath has not yet been released. The developer has also shared broader future plans: Dragon Ruins III is in early design but won't enter full development soon, and a console release for the base game is under discussion. The studio noted in April 2025 that 2024 gave them the stability and resources to expand their scope.

About this game

Aeons ago, dragons used to rule the world, but it only took one man to steal the fire from a dragon to start a chain of events that eventually led to their disappearance.
