Evaluation
Draugen launched on May 29, 2019 as a self-contained first-person mystery narrative. It shipped alongside a Collector's Edition bundle that included the original soundtrack, an art book, and a prequel comic book. The soundtrack and art book released on that same date; however, the prequel comic book ("Before Draugen") remains listed on the store as unreleased with no release date.
Pre-launch materials from May 24, 2019 treated the comic as part of a planned Collector's Edition bundle, and it appears it was never formally delivered. The sole post-launch major update was a v1.1 patch on June 14, 2019 addressing technical issues. There have been no further content releases or announcements in the years since.
The most recent developer communication, dated February 14, 2025, was a community note announcing that Draugen had been added to Red Thread Games' Discord server. The developer described themselves as "still working hard to create games," but made no mention of any upcoming content for Draugen specifically. This post reads as general studio outreach rather than any signal of planned Draugen content.
Given that Draugen is a finite, story-driven single-player game with no post-launch content cadence, no roadmap, and no developer statements indicating future additions, the game is effectively complete as originally shipped. The unreleased comic book DLC is a legacy listing that was announced before launch but never delivered, and no developer communication since launch has reaffirmed it as forthcoming. The game is treated as complete from its original release date.

About this game

About Draugen
From the studio that brought you Dreamfall Chapters, and the creative team behind The Longest Journey and The Secret World, comes a first-person psychological mystery set in 1920s Norway.
The year is 1923. You play Edward Charles Harden, an American traveller — and increasingly unreliable narrator — who's come to Norway to find his missing sister. But you're never alone: every step of the way, Edward is accompanied by Lissie: a lively and enigmatic young woman with a mind of her own.
Together with Edward and Lissie, you must explore a forgotten coastal community nestled amongst the dark fjords and towering mountains of rural Norway, and unearth the terrible secrets that lie beneath the picturesque surface. And what begins as a quest for a missing woman becomes a journey into a painful past.
