Evaluation
Drones, The Human Condition launched on December 1, 2016 as a self-contained arcade twin-stick shooter with 13 levels, achievements, trading cards, and a full soundtrack. The store description lists a fixed set of features with no mention of planned expansions, seasons, or additional content.
The developer's post-launch activity has been limited to maintenance and quality-of-life work: a beta build in October 2018 improving gamepad support and performance, and a Quality of Life update on October 18, 2021 adding better gamepad support, a flash-toggle option, cloud saves, and graphics library updates. Neither of these introduced new game content — they were technical improvements to the existing product.
The most recent developer communication, from October 25, 2021, was an announcement for a different game (Sky Harrier Alpha Code), not a content update for this title. There has been no developer communication about Drones since October 2021, and no content updates have been made to the game after launch. The game was shipped as a complete product and has received only technical upkeep since then.
