Evaluation
Dungeon Dreams launched on February 20, 2019 and received several meaningful updates in its first year and a half: a major feature patch on May 4, 2020 (Version 2.0) that added post-game content, New Game Plus, and new romances, followed by a content update on July 22, 2020 introducing Kireina and expanding Sakura's storyline. The store description also notes that the game has been updated to include additional romances, indicating that content was added post-launch. Since July 2020, there have been no further updates to this base game — developer attention has fully shifted to sequels and follow-up projects.
The developer has been actively working on the broader franchise: Dungeon Dreams 2 was announced in February 2022 and later ran a Kickstarter in December 2022. More recently, on April 13, 2026, the developer announced a Kickstarter campaign launching June 29, 2026 for Dungeon Dreams Wanderers, a sequel to Dungeon Dreams 2. The store description also references the sequel being available. None of these announcements involve new content for the original Dungeon Dreams — they are all for separate titles in the series.
The only DLC (an HD Artbook) was released in October 2019 and there are no unreleased DLC items. The game shipped as a feature-complete RPG and has received no major updates since July 2020. The developer's ongoing activity is focused entirely on new entries in the franchise. This game is complete.

Plot Summary
Ecallia. A town visited my many adventurers. Here lies the Dungeon, rumored to be the prison of the so-called "Forsaken God". Either a prison, or a lair, and no one knows what that monster may be doing down there. All we know is that everytime you enter, its structure is different. And his magic is so strong that not only precious loot and monsters are generated inside, but the "Dungeon Curse" is spreading faster affecting all the Ecallians.
You're the new adventurer in town, and your story is up to you.
Does the answer lie in the last floor of the Dungeon? Or in a peaceful life in Town, perhaps with a girlfriend and new friends?
You're the main character. You get to write his story, from his background to one of the 3 possible endings.
