Dying Breed launched into Early Access on October 7, 2025, as a post-apocalyptic real-time strategy game with two factions and 22 story missions. At launch, the developer published a full roadmap (September 30, 2025) outlining months of planned updates including new missions, new gameplay systems, and modding tools. The development team has been consistently active since launch. A major gameplay rebalance arrived in Patch 1.1.0 (December 18, 2025), followed by a macOS port the same day. Several feature patches in early 2026 added garrison systems, new map content, harvester improvements, and expanded narrative sequences. The most significant update so far — Major Update 1.2 (May 5, 2026) — added six new story missions across both campaigns along with new cinematics and pixel-art cover art. A hotfix followed on May 23, 2026, confirming the developer remains engaged. The game is still in Early Access, the roadmap commitments are actively being fulfilled, and the developer has maintained a steady cadence of updates since launch. A 1.0 release has not been announced.
