Effie launched on Steam on January 28, 2020, following its original PlayStation 4 release on June 4, 2019. After launch, the developer (Inverge Studios) released two feature patches: version 1.2 on February 19, 2020 (controller and camera improvements) and version 1.3 on March 25, 2020 (Steam Cloud Save support and minor bug fixes). These were the last updates to the game itself. In May 2020, the studio received an Epic Megagrant, but no further Effie content was announced or delivered following that news. The most recent communication from Inverge Studios on Effie's Steam page — dated August 18, 2025 — was an announcement of their next game, Peregrino, a new dark survival title. This signals the studio has moved on to a new project. No DLC, expansions, or post-launch content beyond the early maintenance patches were ever released or announced for Effie. The game launched as a self-contained single-player adventure and has been complete since its final patch in March 2020.
