Empyrion - Galactic Survival launched out of Early Access on August 5, 2020, and has received a sustained stream of major content updates ever since. Eleon Game Studios has shipped eight major updates in the scanned news history, with recent examples including v1.12 (March 25, 2025), v1.13 (August 14, 2025), v1.14 (November 12, 2025), v1.15 (February 11, 2026), v1.16 (March 25, 2026), and most recently v1.19 on August 4, 2026 — the game's 11th Anniversary update, which added new gameplay content including a Pirate Treasure hunt activity, new posters, and new achievements. A hotfix (v1.19.2) followed on August 11, 2026.
Between those major releases, intermediate feature updates also shipped: v1.17 (experimental phase May 5, 2026, introducing the Warp Route Planner) and v1.18 (July 8, 2026, with a full rework of the status effect system and AI pathfinding improvements). This establishes a clear and unbroken cadence of major and feature releases roughly every 1–4 months, with no gaps that would suggest development has slowed or stopped.
The sole paid DLC, Dark Faction (released February 6, 2024), is fully shipped. The developer has made no statement indicating that content development is concluding. The holiday 2025 message explicitly stated that development would continue into 2026 with more content for players, and the game's most recent update was just days before today's assessment date (August 16, 2026). No specific future content has been named, but the developer's active, consistent update history strongly indicates the game continues to receive substantial new content.
