Enter the Gungeon launched on April 5, 2016 and received a series of free major content updates over the following three years. The Supply Drop update arrived in January 2017, followed by the Advanced Gungeons & Draguns expansion in July 2018. On April 5, 2019, Dodge Roll released "A Farewell to Arms," which they explicitly described as the final expansion for the game. This marked the conclusion of post-launch content development for Enter the Gungeon.
Since that final update, the developer has shifted focus to a sequel: on April 2, 2025, Dodge Roll announced Enter the Gungeon 2, confirmed to be in active development and targeting a Steam launch in 2026. This announcement is about the sequel, not additional content for the original game — and it further confirms that the original game's content cycle is closed.
