Evercore Heroes: Ascension launched into Early Access on June 25, 2025 and graduated to its 1.0 release on September 18, 2025. However, the game's closure followed quickly. On August 29, 2025, the developer announced that 1.0 would be the final update — no further content, patches, or features would follow — citing an inability to sustain continued development. The 1.0 release itself confirmed this, explicitly stating it was "the last update to the game with no more further updates or new content to follow." Just over five weeks after that 1.0 launch, on October 27, 2025, Vela Games announced that the servers were being shut down permanently. Because the game requires online authentication to run and could not be converted to peer-to-peer without a full rebuild, the shutdown made the game completely unplayable. The studio cited poor early reviews and reception that they were never able to recover from, combined with limited resources as a small nine-person team. The game is no longer available for purchase on Steam (no purchase options exist), confirming it has been delisted. With the servers offline, the game is also unplayable even for those who previously purchased it.
