Evaluation

Everything Ends In 0 is a free-to-play narrative game that launched on December 31, 2024. The base game shipped as a complete experience, but the developer — aeden universe, a solo creator — has been openly building a free DLC called Post-Mortem since at least April 2025. Post-Mortem is described as a separate but intrinsically connected expansion to the base game, with a markedly different tone and gameplay style. The developer has been candid about serious personal health challenges — a mystery illness, medication changes, and a bipolar disorder diagnosis requiring lithium treatment — all of which have affected the pace of work. Despite this, development has continued: Post-Mortem launched in an intentional "alpha/development cut" state on December 25, 2025, followed by version 0.0.2 on December 26, 2025 and version 0.0.3 on January 18, 2026. The December 25, 2025 launch announcement explicitly stated that Post-Mortem "will continue Development throughout 2026 and beyond," making clear this is an ongoing, unfinished project being released incrementally so the developer can share progress and receive feedback. The developer has been transparent that updates will be slow but steady. The most recent developer communication is the January 18, 2026 patch notes for version 0.0.3. As of today (August 19, 2026), that is approximately seven months without a public update — longer than the roughly monthly cadence seen in late 2025. However, given the developer's documented health challenges and the explicitly stated slow, irregular development approach, this gap is not unexpected. The explicit December 2025 statement committing to development "throughout 2026 and beyond" remains the most authoritative signal about the game's future.
Evidence
Post-Mortem alpha launched. The announcement states development 'will continue throughout 2026 and beyond, assuming Its Auteur makes it unscathed,' confirming ongoing planned development.

About this game

Special thanks to Violet. Without her sacrifice, this game would not be here.

Everything Ends In 0 is a game about the end of the world, but you are not a hero destined to save it. In fact, it can't be saved at all - from the moment you start playing, The World is already doomed.

No twist, no fine print, no loopholes, no technicalities. Everything. Will. Die. All you can do is wait for it to be over.

And hey! while you're at it, why not strike up a friendly conversation? I hear you're quite similar to a couple of those girls, and quite intriguing to a couple others. Besides, it's not like the awkward moments will really matter in just a little bit. So listen to them for a while, to pass the time!

Or don't.

Again, it really does not matter.

You are going to die.
