Evaluation

Everything is Crab launched on May 8, 2026 alongside a public roadmap detailing planned content through 2027 and beyond. The developer has maintained a steady update cadence since launch. The first major update (version 1.1) shipped on June 25, 2026, adding new Evolutions and Specialisations, eight new cosmetics, reworked meta-progression, a Twitch Extension, and quality-of-life improvements. A hotfix followed on July 6, 2026. The second major update (version 1.2) launched on August 13, 2026, delivering four new community-designed Evolutions, a new Slow status effect, a new allied creature, mid-run saving, two new Genetics, new cosmetics, and controller improvements. A hotfix followed on August 20, 2026. As of October 5, 2026 — the date of the most recent developer post — the developer confirmed that a next major update is actively in development, teasing it will "bring quite the splash." This directly confirms ongoing development work beyond what has already shipped. The May 5, 2026 roadmap's Autumn window (a paid content update, more free content, a special collaboration, and expanded water gameplay) remains undelivered, as does the promised "2027 and beyond" content. The developer is actively communicating and the roadmap commitments remain publicly outstanding.
