Excidio The Kaiju Simulator launched its full 1.0 release on February 21, 2026, graduating from what was previously an early access-style development cycle. Since launch, the developer TokuPop has maintained a very active update cadence. The Mod Update (v1.1) shipped on March 29, 2026, followed by the Mortal Mode Update (v1.2) on May 30, 2026 — a new game mode where players take control of military units and watch Kaiju battle. A bug fix patch followed on June 7, 2026. Prior to the 1.0 launch, the game had a long history of substantial updates going back to at least July 2024, demonstrating sustained developer engagement throughout. The developer did post a personal update in October 2024 noting a slowdown in development due to family hardship, but resumed normal cadence shortly after.
