Evaluation

Fall of the Stick Knights is a free-to-play local multiplayer game made by a solo teenage developer. The store description openly acknowledges the game is "heavily unfinished" but was published as-is, with the developer noting it was a learning project created at age 16. The game left its informal early access period and received its official 1.0 release on February 19, 2025. The most important signal comes from the developer's own statement on December 15, 2024 (NEWS-1), where they explicitly announced they have "temporarily put [FOSK] aside" to focus on a new project — an RTS game called Lustle. They described FOSK as a first-game learning experience and noted that continuing to improve it would mean rewriting messy code. Regarding the long-requested online multiplayer feature, they concluded with "maybe someday" — a clear indication it is not planned in any concrete way. No roadmap, no announced DLC, no future update schedule exists. Prior to this statement, the developer had been actively patching the game through 2023 and 2024, working toward online multiplayer and a map editor. However, the December 2024 developer statement supersedes all of those earlier signals. Development has effectively concluded, and the game shipped as a finished (if imperfect) package on February 19, 2025.
Evidence
Developer explicitly states they have put FOSK aside to focus on their next game (an RTS called Lustle). Regarding online multiplayer — the most requested feature — they say only 'maybe someday,' with no commitment or timeline.

About this game

Fall of the Stick Knights is a local multiplayer game designed to play with friends. It features physics-based character controls, supports 1 to 4 players, includes AI enemies, and offers a deck-building system that permanently alters your stats.

FOSK is my first game, which I created for fun and to learn programming. It's heavily unfinished, but I believe playing with friends can still be an enjoyable experience.

Why did I publish it on Steam? When I made this game, I was 16, and I simply wanted to release a game on Steam.
(the release date is 19.02.2025, but this game was in early access for about two years.)

Features:
-Character editor
-Over 40 different weapons
-Over 90 unique maps
-"Deck-building" cards
-Local multiplayer
-Controller and keyboard support
-Ton of bugs and imperfections

I hope you have a great time playing it with your friends!
