Faulty Apprentice launched on November 12, 2019 and received a steady stream of post-launch story DLC expansions: Escape from Borg Mountain (February 24, 2020), Troublesome Trade Route (May 28, 2020), Bunny Rabbit Rescue (August 11, 2020), Palm Tree Paradise (January 6, 2021), and Rose Tournament (March 8, 2021). This established a clear cadence of roughly one major DLC every 2–4 months throughout 2020 and into early 2021. After Rose Tournament shipped, the developer announced a brand-new stand-alone visual novel — Best Elf — in May 2021, which released on November 9, 2023. That announcement was framed as a separate title set in the same universe, not as a continuation of Faulty Apprentice's own DLC series. All eight listed DLC items (including the artbook and soundtrack) are released with no unreleased entries remaining. The last developer communication specifically about Faulty Apprentice content was the Rose Tournament release on March 8, 2021, and there have been no announcements of further DLC since then. The developer's creative energy has visibly shifted to Best Elf as a new product. With all DLC shipped, no outstanding commitments, and silence on new Faulty Apprentice content since March 2021, the game is complete.

OPEN CASTLE
The Faulty Apprentice in-game timeline is broken down by day. Allocate your time each day by choosing from a range of activities. Training, Completing Jobs, Exploring Stars Reach Castle, or building Relationships. Each of these activities has its own complex mechanics that bring a wide range to gameplay!
LITTLE BOY, BIG CASTLE!
Over 30 characters to meet, 10 characters to date, and 15+ locations to unlock! Now normally fighting wars, slaying evil creatures, saving princesses, and otherwise kicking butt would be epic, but you're just a scrawny farm boy with nothing more than a letter of recommendation from a mysterious wizard.
