Final Profit launched on March 6, 2023 and has received a steady stream of free post-launch content ever since. Major updates include New Game+ (April 3, 2023), the 1.2 Lighting Overhaul (March 20, 2024), 1.2.1 Shop Staff and Commodity Pavilion (April 21, 2024), 1.2.2 Coin Laundry and Museum (July 13, 2024), and 1.2.3 Just Shop Mode — an entirely new roguelike game mode (October 2, 2024). All of these were free updates. On March 7, 2025 — the game's two-year anniversary — developer Brent Arnold published a state-of-the-game post that included a public roadmap for the first time. It confirmed that update 1.2.4 and a larger 1.3 update are both in development. Brent noted that 1.2.4 was still "months out" from that date, and that 1.3 was "a loooong way off." The post also expressed intent to continue supporting the game, crediting ongoing community support for keeping development viable. In May 2025, Brent also announced a spinoff game called Oil Town, set in the same world as Final Profit — indicating the developer remains active. The most recent developer communication was May 19, 2025. As of June 22, 2026, the 1.2.4 and 1.3 updates announced in March 2025 have not been confirmed as shipped, and no post-release announcement has superseded the roadmap. The planned content is therefore still outstanding.
