Flashback 2 launched on November 16, 2023 and received a series of post-launch patches addressing the significant technical issues players reported at release. The developer shipped bug-fix patches in November and December 2023, followed by a more substantial feature patch on January 30, 2024 that improved performance, collisions, animations, and controls. On June 27, 2024, Microids released what they described as a "major update" — the result of several months of work — which overhauled the combat system (replacing manual reloading with an overheat system, adding enemy lock-on and laser aiming), revamped the final zone's cameras and HUD, added new languages, and delivered further fixes and optimizations. There are no unreleased DLC listings, no announced future content, and no roadmap pointing to additional updates. The June 2024 major update appears to represent the conclusion of the developer's post-launch improvement work. Developer communications have been silent since June 27, 2024 — nearly a full year before today's date — with no indication of further planned content or updates.
