浮生箓 Floating Life

浮生箓 (Floating Life) launched on Steam Early Access on February 17, 2022 as a lightweight interactive novel / life-simulation game. Within a month of launch, the developer acknowledged the game's shortcomings and made a bold public commitment on March 25, 2022 to completely rebuild it from scratch — redesigning the editor, UI, code architecture, and adding substantial new features including interactive NPCs, new scenario modes, and combat systems. This remake was originally targeted for September 2022. The rebuild took much longer than planned. On December 19, 2022, the developer explained delays caused by staff shortages, COVID lockdowns, and the difficulty of the overhaul, pushed the target to "early 2023." Progress updates followed on February 20, 2023 (75% complete) and April 4, 2023 (85% complete), with the latter detailing new systems including a turn-based card combat system and an equipment system. The developer said at that point it was coming "soon." However, no further posts have appeared since April 4, 2023. As of June 22, 2026, the promised remake has never been released on Steam, and the developer has gone completely silent for over three years. The game remains listed in Early Access in its original, unremade form. The studio also announced a sequel (浮生箓2：九九行歌) during this period, which may have drawn resources away from this title.
