Evaluation

Fly Dangerous launched into Early Access on May 24, 2022 as a permanently free, open-source game by solo developer Juki (Stargoat Games). At launch, the developer was explicit that the game was in very early stages, with "tons to do" — including plans for more ships, improved multiplayer, expanded terrain, new game modes, and a proper replay viewer. Since launch, the developer has delivered two major content milestones: Update 2 on March 6, 2023 (adding over 25 new tracks, new biomes, laps and puzzle game modes, ship collisions, bHaptics support, head tracking, and more), and a substantial feature update on July 28, 2025 (adding replay viewing, external level loading, a new red planet environment, and significant engine architecture improvements). Multiple feature patches and bug fixes have been released throughout — including a series of hotfixes documented in the August 25, 2025 post, which is the most recent developer communication on record. The July 28, 2025 patch notes include a comment from the developer: "Hopefully a little less time before the next update, eh?" — signaling intent to keep updating. As of October 1, 2026, approximately 13 months have passed since the last developer post. The two major updates were separated by roughly 28 months (March 2023 to July 2025), so 13 months of silence is within that historical interval and does not indicate abandonment. The game remains in Early Access. No 1.0 release date has been announced, and no statement indicating completion or end of development has been made.

About this game

Ever wanted to take a ridiculously fast, fully-controllable rocket ship and fly it like the lunatic that lives inside of all of us? Well now you can!

Fly Dangerous is a game where 60Gs of acceleration is just fine because who needs realism? From pick-up and play arcade gamepad all the way to no-assist, highly configurable and bind-able controls - configure your flight stick (or mouse, keyboard, gamepad or ... steering wheel, no judgements here but good luck) and take to the skies at absurd speeds.

Test your skill on the leaderboards with drift, careful boost control and a 6dof flight model! Use flight assists to keep your balance and work towards turning them off for the best times!

Put some music on and chill in the infinite free roam modes.

Party up with friends in the online multiplayer mode!

Jump into VR for the full stomach-wrenching experience!

Now supports head tracking with OpenTrack and TrackIR, bHaptics integration and telemetry / Sim Racing Studio integration!
