FOCUS on YOU launched on July 5, 2019 as a VR dating adventure by Smilegate. The game received three paid DLC packs between August 2019 and November 2020, all of which have shipped. Post-launch updates consisted of seasonal event patches (Christmas, Valentine's Day, Halloween) and bug fixes through early 2021. The clearest signal of development conclusion came on May 18, 2021, when Smilegate permanently removed the voice recognition feature — a core gameplay system — from the game. This followed a March 17, 2021 notice that sales of voice recognition tickets were ending and the feature would be shut down. Dismantling a central feature rather than replacing or expanding it is a strong indicator that active development has concluded. Since May 18, 2021, there have been no further developer communications of any kind — no patches, no announcements, no updates. All three DLC packs have been released, no unreleased content is listed on the store, and the developer has made no announcements of future content. The game launched as a finished product and received a modest post-launch content cycle that has since ended. The game is available for purchase in its complete form.
