For The Glory: A Europa Universalis Game

For the Glory originally launched on November 11, 2009. After many years of forum-only beta patches, developer Crystal Empire Games brought the game back to active Steam distribution in late 2024. On September 24, 2024, they announced that 1.3 beta patches were now available on Steam, teasing a "final 1.3 patch coming on a special day." True to their word, the major version 1.3 update landed on November 11, 2024 — exactly 15 years after the game's original release. This was a substantial update bringing new scenarios, new gameplay systems, a revamped rebel system, a new Holy Roman Empire interface, an extended timeline, new formable countries, and hundreds of new historical events and leaders. Development continued into 2025: patch 1.31 was released on October 22, 2025, delivering further AI improvements, rebel rebalancing, new scripting options, new country events, and additional gameplay refinements. These two significant updates establish a pattern of active developer engagement, with major releases roughly 12 months apart. As of today (October 8, 2026), approximately 11.5 months have passed since the most recent patch — still within that established annual cadence window. No statement has been made that development is complete or that no further updates are planned. Crystal Empire Games continues to actively work on and improve this decades-old title.
