FOREWARNED launched into full 1.0 release on April 25, 2024 after approximately two and a half years in Early Access. The 1.0 "Final Reckoning" update was the game's largest content drop, adding a seventh Mejai, two new maps, a new tomb variation, a ritual overhaul, new puzzles, and more.
On October 15, 2025, the developer posted a detailed update explaining their decision-making for the game's future. They described experimenting with significant new gameplay mechanics post-1.0, but ultimately concluded those changes would fundamentally alter what FOREWARNED is — so rather than forcing them into the existing game, they decided to build a new project set in the FOREWARNED universe instead. The post explicitly states that regarding FOREWARNED itself, they "do still plan to add further quality of life improvements and additions to things like the Points Shop," but that these minor additions would take a back seat to the new project.
This is effectively a developer statement that substantive content development for FOREWARNED has concluded, with the game's future limited to minor quality-of-life tweaks rather than meaningful new content. The most recent patch (January 6, 2026) was a multiplayer networking hotfix, consistent with the maintenance-only posture described in the October 2025 post.
The game shipped as a complete, feature-rich product at 1.0 launch, and the developer has communicated that major content work has wrapped up in favor of a new title.
