Fossil Corner launched on June 12, 2021 and received one major content update — the Big Fall Update on October 7, 2021 — which added a new fossil type (Crinoids), a new workspace, the Scrapbook App, and additional unlockable items. Immediately following that update, developer Brady Soglin stated: "Now that this update is done, I'm planning on moving on to working on new projects." This is a clear, direct statement that active development on Fossil Corner has concluded. Brady confirmed this direction in a later post from August 18, 2023, noting that focus had shifted to a new game, Tall Trails, while stopping by only to push a small bug fix. There are no announced or unreleased DLC packs, no roadmaps, and no further content commitments. The game launched as a complete experience and received one planned content expansion before the developer officially moved on.
