Evaluation
FPS Monitor is a utility launched on November 9, 2018 that has been continuously maintained and expanded since release. The developer has shipped a steady stream of feature and hardware-support updates over the years, with notable updates in March 2021 (build 5300), December 2021 (build 5410), November 2023 (build 5472), October 2024 (build 5500), and June 27, 2025 (build 5520).
On December 31, 2025, the developer posted a year-in-review message explicitly teasing a "very big and technological gift" already prepared for 2026, saying users will "be able to customize your gaming experience on an entirely new level." Then, in the August 2025 announcement for their new X-Magnifier tool, the developer noted it was created "while working on a major update for FPS Monitor" — directly confirming that work on a significant FPS Monitor update was underway.
Most recently, on August 7, 2026, the developer posted that "a tester recruitment for a major FPS Monitor update is dropping soon in Discord" — a direct, current confirmation that a major update is actively in development and approaching a testing phase. The studio also remains healthy and active, having launched a new companion product (VisiMouse) with ongoing giveaways as of August 2026.
There is no indication of development winding down. The developer is actively engaged, has explicitly communicated a major update is imminent, and maintains a long history of regular improvements to the product.
