FreeCell Quest launched on October 19, 2015. After a period of active patching through early 2017, development had gone quiet for many years. On September 30, 2026 — exactly a decade after launch — the developer (Bryan Livingston) published a major free update called the Turbo Deluxe Edition, which rebuilt the game on a new engine, overhauled visuals and UI, and added hero animations and quality-of-life improvements. This update is available to everyone who already owns the game at no extra cost.
The same post addresses what comes next. The developer says he is *considering* starting a sequel project (FreeCell Quest 2), conditional on community support as measured by upvotes on the post, with a tentative ship window of March 2027. This is an explicitly speculative, conditional statement about a separate future game — not a commitment to deliver additional content for the current game. No DLC, expansions, or further updates to FreeCell Quest itself are announced.
