Frozen State launched on August 5, 2016 after a period in Early Access. Following launch, Flox Studios released several patches through late 2016, culminating in the v1.00 patch on October 11, 2016. On December 23, 2016, the developers posted a candid end-of-year message confirming they considered Frozen State finished: they described it as their "first baby" that they had "managed to finish," acknowledged its rough edges, and stated they needed a break before potentially working on a new Frozen State in the future. They announced they were moving on to a new, unrelated project. Subsequent news posts on the Frozen State store page — from January 2017 through November 2019 — are entirely about that new project (eventually released as Mist Hunter), with only a passing mention in March 2017 of minor rebalancing tweaks for Frozen State. No new content, DLC, or expansion was ever announced or released for Frozen State. The developer's own words on December 23, 2016 effectively closed the book on the game's development.

About this game

The entire world is embraced by the man-made ice age meant to protect the human race from alien hybrids. The last survivors have formed the Resistance.

On the way to the Resistance, the main character gets stranded in the closed experimental city Duga-40, where he has to survive and repair his transport to continue the journey.

The game’s world is vast (65 different locations) and populated with the human survivors, military groups and pestilent alien hybrids. The world and loot are randomly generated every playthrough.

There is a deep crafting system that allows you not only to cook food and make different weapons, but also to build traps, barricades and shelters.

Accomplishing the main goal, which is to repair the transport and not die by the hybrid’s claws, you will discover the story of the city, meet the survivors and understand what really happened.
